Deer in Nara

Of all the sights in Japan, my favorite were the deer in Nara. The deer roam free in Nara Park, a beautiful area of the city filled with temples, gardens, forests, and stands that sell crackers to feed the adorable inhabitants.

These crackers are hot commodities to the deer, whose ways of begging people for them oscillate between a regal-esque bow and an aggressive bite to the butt. Perhaps they’ve learned that the latter results in immediate treats, while the former in endless photos and videos.
